Dar airport has just reopened
Further to our last on Dar airport. Whatever tests were carried out appear to have been successful and both terminals are now open and operating normally. We can all breathe again!
Temporary closure of Dar airport
17 Feb 2011 Temporary Closure of Dar es Salaam airport:
Last night an ammunition dump in Dar had some old stock unexpectedly explode. As a result Dar airport closed one terminal last night.
They plan to do some more tests this afternoon (!?) so as a precaution both international & domestic terminals are currently closed but expected to re-open later today.
We'll keep you informed and in the meantime we're rearranging the plans of any Nomad guest affected.
